3-D or 2-D Radiographic Imaging?

The latest Endodontics Colleagues for Excellence Newsletter, published a session about 2-D and 3-D radiographic imaging that I would like to share with you.

Surveys to endodontists revealed that that both large and small pathoses as well as anatomic entities are routinely missed in 2-D radiographic imagings and that the healing and repair of pathoses after nonsurgical and surgical endodontics can be observed in a far more predictable manner with 3-D technology.

This piece of information is worth sharing. Despite the cost difference in both types of radiographic images, it is worth to mention to patients the predictability and accuracy of 3-D imaging.
