Pulpotomy

A pulpotomy is also referred to as a “baby root canal” because it is usually done on baby teeth. When the inflamed pulp chamber of a tooth, usually on a molar, is removed, the area is sterilized, and the chamber is sealed. It is a very common procedure in children and has a reasonable good prognosis of success.
